So, I am working toward putting Textweek into a format that will be current and useful for at least the next years. This will take some time. Meanwhile, I will try to keep the index updated and list the new material that I can. Probably most of the links you find will be from last cycle. Paul's Preaching of the Cross. When the apostles preached the cross, did they preach something in addition to the facts of the death of Christ? If the answer to that question is "yes," then one may preach the cross and preach things other than the physical, literal death of Jesus on the cross. Let us see the example of Paul.

A very fruiteful sermon preched at Paules Crosse the tenth of May last, being the first Sunday in Easter terme: in which are conteined very necessary and profitable lessons and instructions for this time.

By Iohn Stockevvood schoolemaister of Tunbrydge. THE WAY PAUL PREACHED HIS MESSAGE. Paul’s message was crucifixion. He himself was a crucified man, and he preached the cross by way of the cross.

It was a man of the cross preaching the message of the cross with the spirit of the cross. Many times what we preach is the cross, but our attitude, our words, and our feeling do not seem like we. Very good book for any pastor to read. It refreshes our bearings and directs us back to what is crucial in preaching.

Articles written by seasoned men who have been preaching the cross for many years. Each chapter is unique so that they could be read out of order. Very helpful especially the chapters by Piper and Mohler/5(16).

It came from the very central Source of all. Paul's gospel of Christ came from Christ. Some preachers of the gospel are so able that they feel bound to originate. They throw a new light upon the truth instead of the old light. They preach, as they consider, a magnificent gospel, but it is unfortunately "of man," and thus worthless.

A most godly and learned sermon preached at Pauls crosse the 17 of Nouember, in the yeare of our Lorde. (Imprinted at London: By Thomas Orwin, for Thomas Chard, ), by John Whitgift (HTML at EEBO TCP) A fruitfull and godly sermon preached at Paules crosse before the Honourable audience and assemblie there, this present yeare   Here is a sermon that I used at the end of a series on the Fruit of the Spirit.

Develop a Strong ROOT System 2. Eliminate The PROBLEMS 3. Prepare For PRUNING 4. Wait For The HARVEST How To Have A Spiritually Productive Life We come now to the last sermon. However, in writing to you as fellow pastors, we want to concentrate on a single item mentioned by Paul: we want to suggest a way forward that may be fruitful in getting you started, or helping you keep on track, in the goal of being “able to teach.” (1 Tim.

) As we do so, we recognize what the rest of the Pastoral Epistles makes clear. Well, I invite you to take your Bibles. Turn with me to the book of Philippians, Philippians, chapter 1. And I find myself unusually drawn to this book these days.

And Philippians chapter 1, tonight I would like for us to look at verses 21 to 26, depending upon the time. And the title of message ton. It may seem to you that God is playing “Hide & Seek” from you, but don’t let the devil convince you that God is mad at you for something you’ve done, or that He’s embarrassed by your actions.

THE PREACHING OF THE CROSS 1 Corinthians Today I want to talk for a little while about “the preaching of the cross”, about the crucifixion of Jesus there on the cross of Calvary, so I want you to pay close attention. Listen as I read today’s text found in 1st cor. the cross, cried “finished.” Then and there He made peace through the blood of His cross, to reconcile sinners to God.

(John and 31 - Colossians and 21). The FACT of salvation is, that all the work that needs to be done for the sinner’s salvation Christ did and is doing, together with God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus Walks on the Water Matthew 22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd.

23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone, 24 but the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the. At The Cross.

Colossian Aren’t you glad for the cross of Jesus. We would be nothing without Jesus and His sacrifice at Calvary. Jesus is “the way, the truth and the life no man comes to the Father except through Him” - This salvation that I speak of cost a great price and Jesus paid that price AT THE CROSS.

The following is my Good Friday sermon for St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Alexandria, Virginia, a town across the river from Washington, D.C., the seat of. A fruitful church may witness many conversions, growing attendance, and intense emotional engagement — or it may not.

What, then, ought we to look for as signs of Spiritual fruitfulness. I happen to think Edwards’s “distinguishing marks of a work of the Spirit of God” hold up rather well.

Distinguishing Marks of A Fruitful Church. The book then goes through the mechanics of preaching (“The Sermon and the Preaching,” “The Form of the Sermon,” “The Act of Preaching” and “The Shape of the Sermon”). What is made readily obvious in these chapters is how the sermon itself (content) is distinct from the delivery of that sermon (the fire and thunder).Reviews:   The word “tithe” literally means tenth or 10%.

Therefore anything less than 10% is only a tip. If you are tithing from crops offer the best unto God. Not what is left behind.

III. The Church is God’s only authorized storehouse. Giving to any other ministry is not tithing; it is offering. Tithe with the Right Attitude: I. This is. Fruitful Christians. Text John I. We know that Jesus’ words in John 15 concerning the vine and branches is dealing with individual Christians and not denominations.
